In the past few weeks I’ve been campaigning on social media, “When in Fort Pierce, Experience Fort Pierce”. This town has some of the best kept secrets. And if you are a pet owner and a dog lover, then Fort Pierce, Florida is particularly accommodating to all animals. In fact, you can even take a horseback riding tour on the South Hutchinson Island beach. The residents here love their furry friends as well as the sea life creatures and farm animals. Fort Pierce is rich in history and art culture with a variety of nature trails, preserves, ranches, state parks, beaches and several dog parks. Maravilla Dog Park is located off Oleander Blvd and Maple Ave. which offers a small dog and large dog area that includes a water fountain. It’s also kid friendly too with nice facilities. Another option for your pooch which claims to be an “off leash” area is the Savannas Recreation Area located at 1400 E. Midway Rd.
But, the really cool thing about this community is how friendly and inviting the locals are to the visitors and their pets. The Fort Pierce experience includes the great weather here which permits many of the restaurants around town to have open air patio seating so your beloved dog can be right beside you. Here’s a short video to highlight just a few of our many establishments that allow you to feed with your breed.
