Have you noticed in the past several months between February 2019 and June 2019, the super yachts coming in and out of the Fort Pierce Inlet? These mega vessels have been parking and getting total restorations at the newest ship yard, Fort Pierce Yacht & Ship. Buddy Haack is the Operations Manager at this boutique facility that caters to the very rich and famous people who have flown in on their private jets to completely customize and refit their million dollar vessels. The list of his clientele is impressive along with the helicopters landing and the 4 million dollar submarines being placed on and off the oceanographic vessels right here under our nose.
The Fort Pierce Yacht & Ship is bringing in economic growth for our County. For example, the owner of the yacht Vibrance paid St Lucie County 100,000.00 plus for dockage, electric, water and garbage. The crew stayed here locally and also brought in revenue. That’s just one vessel! We have had 4 ships in the months between February and June. The specialty work being done here on these yachts brought in laborers and local jobs. An estimated 11 million was injected to our area in 4 months. “There is a market for what I do”, states Buddy Haack, “because no one else is doing total restorations to Mega yachts”. FPYS is not a repair shop, they do complete renovations, and there is a huge difference. The big billionaires commissioning “complete upgrades” on every aspect of their big yachts here mean big business for Fort Pierce and St Lucie County.
I thought this was very fascinating so I did my research to find out the WHO’S WHO OF SUPER WEALTHY coming into our local airport, port and town.
The pictures below are just some of the Billionaire owners who have visited our area. If you haven’t noticed them, I’m sure you have seen their Super Mega Yachts gliding across the our beautiful waterways. And FYI, Buddy was also, the only one in town restoring mega yachts in 2015-2016 and he’s back in business. Enjoy the video below to see just what Buddy has been up to. I will follow up on a Part 2 blog featuring Buddy Haack and FPSY so stay tuned…
